EUFAS Endorses the European Health Alliance on Alcohol (EHAA)
The European Federation of Addiction Societies (EUFAS) is pleased to endorse the European Health Alliance on Alcohol (EHAA), a new coalition committed to advancing evidence‑based policies to reduce alcohol-related harm across Europe.
As a federation representing national addiction research and treatment societies across the continent, EUFAS shares EHAA’s ambition to strengthen public health by promoting science-based approaches to alcohol prevention, treatment, and policy. The burden of alcohol-related harm remains a major challenge for European health systems, affecting individuals, families, and communities. Coordinated action—grounded in independent, high‑quality research—is essential.
EUFAS welcomes EHAA’s commitment to:
evidence-informed alcohol policy,
reducing health inequalities related to alcohol use,
improving prevention and early intervention, and
supporting health professionals, researchers, and policymakers in addressing alcohol-related harm.
By endorsing EHAA, EUFAS affirms its support for strengthened European collaboration to reduce alcohol harm and its continued dedication to advancing scientific knowledge in addiction medicine. We look forward to contributing our expertise and working closely with partner organizations to promote effective, responsible, and research‑grounded alcohol policy throughout Europe.
