EUFAS GA 2026

On 21st September 2026, the European Federation of Addiction Societies (EUFAS) held its General Assembly (GA) during the German Congress on Addictions. We are grateful to the conference organisers for providing the time and opportunity to convene our GA in conjunction with this important scientific meeting.

The GA was conducted as a hybrid meeting, allowing participation both in person and online. Overall, the meeting was well attended, with strong representation from member organizations and national delegates across Europe.

During the GA, the activities undertaken by EUFAS over the past year were reviewed (see annual report), as well as the progress achieved in recent years. The annual report demonstrated that EUFAS continues to maintain a high level of activity across multiple areas, reflecting the organization's ongoing commitment to advancing addiction science, education, and collaboration throughout Europe.

The financial status of the federation was also reviewed. The accounts confirmed that EUFAS remains in a strong financial position. As a result, the GA concluded that there is no need to introduce membership fees for member organisations in the foreseeable future.

Elections to the EUFAS Executive Committee are held biennially; accordingly, the next election will take place at the General Assembly during the Lisbon Addictions Conference in October 2027.
